Stopover in Dubai

Share We came only for a stopover in Dubai
to get a taste of the fervour of man
to get a glimpse of our distance from the sky
and touch that heat of man’s achievements
or feel the depth of sea-beater designs.
Oh Dubai
untouched by the fierceness of the crowd spill
unbent by the force of desert wind.
As the dust still settles over you like a shroud
and as your nights light up the moonless skies
I sense my imagination shrink…
